![]() Saab is star of the showLocal radio station Star Radio is now travelling in true Swedish style courtesy of Cambridge Saab. The Harston-based dealership has replaced the station's existing ‘Invincible' promotional vehicle with the ‘Saab Viggen' - a New Saab 9-3 SportWagon from the range launched across the UK in September. The Saab Viggen will be used by Star Radio Breakfast Show presenter Mark Peters for a number of on-air features and will also appear at a large number of public events throughout the local area. James Howarth, Dealer Principal of Cambridge Saab, was on hand to present Mark with the keys to Star Radio's new Saab 9-3 SportWagon. James said: "The Saab Viggen is a car that will be recognised wherever it goes, and the New Saab 9-3 SportWagon not only projects a stylish and dynamic image, it is also considered to be one of the safest cars on the road. We hope that all at Star Radio enjoy driving the Saab Viggen and we look forward to seeing it out on the streets of Cambridge very soon!" With all-new bonnet, front bumper and wings, ‘signature' lighting, new door panels and rear styling features, the New Saab 9-3 is designed to reinforce the premium Swedish marque's sporty appeal. Other external enhancements include the introduction of new alloy wheels with an 18-inch design now offered as an option on all variants apart from 1.8i models. Two new colours are added to the range, including a Snow Silver metallic paint finish, similar to the colour seen on the stunning Saab Aero X concept car. New additions to the engine line-up will ultimately include an innovative 180 hp (132 kW), twin-turbo 1.9 diesel, an uprated 280 hp (206 kW), 2.8V6 turbo petrol engine and a brand new 175 hp 2.0t Saab BioPower flex-fuel option, delivering 200 hp (147 kW) when running on renewable and sustainable bioethanol E85 fuel. A state-of-the-art all-wheel drive system (Saab XWD - ‘cross wheel drive') will also be launched later on in the model year, exclusive to Saab 9-3 Aero Saloon and SportWagon models. Saab XWD is a fully automatic, on-demand system capable of sending up to 100 per cent of engine torque to the front or rear wheels whenever necessary.
