Turning scrap into style

James Howarth, Dealer Principal at Cambridge Saab, is urging local motorists not to miss out on a potential £2000 saving on a new car as the Government's scrappage scheme begins to have a positive impact on new car registrations.

Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited (SMMT) have shown that nearly 30,000 vehicles have so far been registered as a direct result of the scheme.

Designed to replace older cars with more economical, environmentally friendlier and safer vehicles, the car scrappage incentive gives those trading in a 10 year old (or older) vehicle for scrap the chance to drive away in a brand new Saab for a whole lot less.

And, following the recent launch of the Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition, the scrappage scheme could now allow you to put yourself behind the wheel of Saab's luxurious special edition for just £15,995.

Usually priced at £17,995 the Turbo Edition is offered in both Saloon and SportWagon variants and offers all the premium extras of Saab's most prestigious vehicles as standard including 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather interior, dual-zone climate control, 7 speaker 150w audio system with MP3 compatibility and cruise control.

The 9-3 Turbo Edition is also available with Saab's new EcoPower diesel engine range, which has been designed to offer reduced CO2 emissions and improved fuel efficiency.

To take advantage of the car scrappage scheme or to find out if your vehicle is eligible, visit Cambridge Saab on High Street, Harston or call 01223 873660.
