The UK's opportunity to demonstrate loyalty to Saab brand

Local dealership Cambridge Saab has pledged its support to the UK's ‘Save our Saab' support convoy which will set off from Saab's UK headquarters this weekend.

Saab owners and enthusiasts from across the UK are due to gather at Saab's offices in Luton on January 17^th as part of the global ‘Save our Saab' campaign - set up by the online community of Saab fans to demonstrate their passion for and loyalty to the Saab brand.

Saab is currently owned by the American motor giant General Motors who, having failed to secure a buyer for the Swedish marque, are in the process of deciding whether to close the company all together, or to extend their deadlines in the hope of receiving a successful bid from potential last minute investors.

Showing their support for keeping the Saab brand alive, a convoy of Saab vehicles will set off from Saab's Luton-based headquarters and will make its way down to the Imperial War Museum, Duxford - a perfect backdrop for a unique exhibition of classic Saab models spanning the brand's 62-year history.

Representatives from Cambridge Saab will be present on the day, providing refreshments for guests and displaying some of Saab's latest models including the new multi-terrain performance vehicle - the Saab 9-3X.

James Howarth, Dealer Principal of Cambridge Saab, said: "We have been fortunate enough to have been part of the Saab family for over 40 years, and it would be a tragic waste for this brand that is held in such high regard, to disappear completely. This is our opportunity to represent the network of over 80 British Saab dealerships and to show our loyalty to this unique brand. The exhibition of cars at Duxford - a setting so fitting for Saab's aviation heritage - is the perfect tribute to Saab from all of us here in the UK. It is our hope that this convoy will demonstrate that Saab not only has a past full of magnificent cars, but that it should also have its place in the future of automotive manufacture."
